Con Rod Heater

We are looking for opinions on connecting rod heaters. We have been using a Sunnen CRH-50 and need to heat cycle twice per rod to expand enough for assembly. This is taking longer than we would like. Anyone using the propane heaters like a Goodson RH-50?
What are the pros and cons?

We are using the Goodson, RH 50 on Propane and are happy with it. Using the Sunnen for installing fixture only. Charles ERI 066

Interference is averaging 0.0015″. Perhaps our heating elements are weak. We are considering doing what Charles is doing.

Sunnen recommends 8-12 10ths. that is all I ever did and never had a problem assembling or in use. Try it??
