You may get a more detailed response from your Melling rep on this – Frank Sandeman, but the cost for the Melling lifter that is made in the USA is almost the same as the made in the USA Hylift-Johnson.

Current IPW Cost on the JB976 is $20.87 with the warehouse fee included. Made is the USA.

Current Member Cost on the B-0976 Hylift Johnson is $21.46. Made in the USA.

Current IPW Cost on the HT976 Sealed Power lifter is $9.51 with the warehouse fee included. MADE in CHINA.

There will be other suppliers of lifters out there in the marketplace too, but I would think the country of origin plays a significant role in the cost of this lifter.

Why support an internet seller? Why not try NPW for the diesel heads – their part number for the 18mm bare castings is 920064 (2 units now in stock) and for complete heads that will be back on their shelf tomorrow or Thursday – 920064C.

They also have a performance aluminum set available – part number 9602.

Motor State put a hold on a limited number of items they sell to Canada until they can create a line on their invoice for tariff charges. This line will appear in Price Guide Pro as well. Clothing, gloves, and a few other products make up a majority of the items they put on hold due to tariffs but once their invoices can account for these charges, the items will be available again.

Try ERI 127. Tom does a lot of these old 2.8L engines. He may be able to help.

There are (14) rod bearings in the FM warehouse in Smyrna, TN. Part number is BSE9560CPA20 if ordered directly next week or they could be added to our IPW Stouffville stock order that will be placed tomorrow.

If you’d like something with a little more performance – IPW Stouffville has a Comp Cam 68-231-4.

I just got off the phone with Mahle Aftermarket Customer Service and there was an issue with Ma Bell earlier, but their phones are back up and working: 1-877-777-2926.
